Medical spa treatments are generally considered cosmetic or aesthetic in nature, so most health insurance plans do not provide coverage for them. Insurance typically only covers services that are deemed medically necessary to diagnose or treat a health condition.

That said, some clients have been able to submit receipts for weight-loss medications to their FSA accounts and receive reimbursement, depending on their plan’s guidelines.
